Hey Hi Well This is New

Eeek!! You know when you really want to do something and you’ve thought about it for months but you just don’t know where to start? Well that’s basically where I am at with this but I figure it’s the perfect COVID-19 quarantine project. (Thanks Jack for encouraging me.) I guess it’s technically not my first blog post ever, I actually started a blog 7 years ago. I never posted nearly as much as I wanted to, I used it more as a digital diary to share my photography, miscellaneous projects, and art, but I really loved having a place to host all of my creative work. I'll share some of those old goodies at a later point but for now I’m back with a new blog, a new website, a new purpose.

So Hi guys. Some quick Facts: My name is Josie. I am 24 years old living in Los Angeles. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I went to Indiana University and studied Marketing. I make a mean matcha latte. I have a Chameleon named Susan and a bunny named Phoebe. I am a pescetarian. My mom was born in Italy which is where I get my olive skin. I’ll drop anything to spend a day at the beach. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. I love a good White Russian. I do these weird one line drawings. My favorite color is green. I can recite 50 digits of Pi. I love clothes and styling.

And I lost my job a few months ago.

Which brings me here. Long story short, the start-up I was working at in the entertainment industry wasn’t doing well so after large budget cuts, the company laid off majority of the staff, including myself. I have always been a planner and had my life under control, or at least it’s always felt under control, so this was a first. I absolutely hated the first week of “funemployment.” I had no idea what to do with myself, I felt embarrassed, and I weirdly wished I had work to do. I remember calling my mom on day 5 and saying “this isn’t as fun as I thought it would be.” So, after a week or so of adjusting, stepping back and re-evaluating my life, I got back into the creative things I loved and had been missing. I had a really amazing conversation with a friend who encouraged me to start sharing more of my style and favorite looks on social media. I kind of wanted to, but I wasn't so sure at first. What am I going to post? Are people going to judge me? What’s the point? Well it turns out, there doesn’t really need to be a point which is the best part. I didn't have to explain myself to anyone so a few months ago I just started posting more of myself, my style, and brands I love on my Instagram. To be honest, I still don’t really know what I am doing or what the end goal is, but I do know that I am having so much fun with it. It's been the creative outlet I've been looking for and is the perfect combination of photography, styling and creating, three things I have always loved. I hope you guys enjoy what I share here (if you don’t that’s cool too) and can see my authenticity through out it all.

If you're thinking "what is this blog even about" then we're on the same page LOLZ. I anticipate it will change as we go and start to take its shape, but I plan to share more of the brands I love, my latest projects, styling tips, thrift hauls, etc. A place for all of my musings and a place to connect with all of you. There’s a lot more to come and a lot of fun ideas in the works, so stick around! If you’ve read this far, thank you thank you thank you I virtually squeeze you.
